I feel a little selfish asking for a prayer request but I have had a really bad day and need some spiritual support. I am currently between churches and am looking for a place to settle. I went to a church this morning in a neighbouring town and even though I got alot from the service I was terribly conflicted inside. I realised I'm struggling with cynicism. Ever since I broke up with my ex last year I've tried to get my life back on track but these last several weeks (since about December) my spiritual life seems to have spiralled towards the dangerous road to 'backsliding'. I realised that the break up has tainted my experience of Christianity and of my relationships with other Christians. I didn't really have this problem (or so I thought) earlier last year but ever since I left my old church and have been in limbo since it is becoming harder and harder to take that step and become a part of a new fellowship. I've become so disillusioned and confused with the many different theological and doctrinal disputes amongst the denominations that I'm not sure where I belong anymore. Ironically I want to but since I haven't seemed to have found what I've been looking for so far I just feel like an outsider, an outcast (no pun intended). I've already fallen out with my parents about it earlier today and have felt quite lonely and depressed. Please pray I will find the right church soon and that I will be able to trust Christians again and feel relaxed in a church environment. Thanks.

Praying that God will lead you to the right place.
Don't ever hesitate to ask for prayer.

I'll pray for you, you get my word on that.  Headup brother! I'm sure you'll find the right place for you and your faith eventually. Just try to stay open... There are many things in this world that try to tear us down, including cynicism, but we all know deep down inside that there's Someone up there who is much more stonger than any of that...

You're in my prayers bro... but I'm kind of in the same boat, although I don't believe in church or fellowship anymore.
But I notice that most Christians don't accept me, apparently I'm not good enough... don't care what others think though, I'm fine learning by myself.

thank you for your prayers, I've decided to go along to the evening services of the church I visited last Sunday for a while and see what happens. I need stability in my spiritual life. I've felt ok these last couple of days and I made up with my parents so we're all ok again.

I understand exactly what your talking about. Christians like that are too consumed in their own religious traditions to realize that they are not acting "Christ-like" in showing love and acceptance of others willing to be accepted.
