As a man once said in a blog I read a while back, hiphop was at one time or another conscious... talking only the truth about different aspects on life, or about personal experiences before it became big in the late 80's early 90's. These days it seems to be tainted with only the shallow, and basically unrealistics views on life (i'm referring not so much to hiphop in general, but the major labeled song singles and records that are being put out there in the major public eye in today). While hit songs talk about partying in the clubs, getting laid, or "licking lollipops" -lil wayne are becoming big on the MTV board these days... when a hiphop artist comes out with something with vision or reffering to something that would really benefit the way people could think, or change perspective... MTV says no. In this particular video, Mr. j Medeiro's video "Constance" is a music video portraying the unfortunate truth about human trafficing, which has been deemed to "controversial" to be shown on public TV. So while video's where you see clubs, half naked chicks booty dancing to the beat and raps of some obsceneity are being golden ticketed in, a video like this with a consciousness of the unfortunate realities of a matter like human trafficing are too controversial? Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t4UIfMB_LR4 i'd like to know your thoughts on this... and the video.
