*comes in and sits in front of laptop* *asks God to help give a Godly response* *takes a deep breath* Dude, you have made me think. You brought up some good points, but I wasn't trying to be legalistic at all. While your comments are right, I do believe that you have misunderstood my posts. I think that it's good that I can learn from you and others and I hope things go well on these boards. What I was trying to point out in my posts was that bad company corrupts good character (just read Psalm 1). While I agree with you that the members of P.O.D. are Christians and that they have impacted our culture for God and positivity, they HAVE done things that I don't believe are Biblical. My Bible tells me that I shouldn't be friends with the world. It even says that I shouldn't love the world nor the things in the world. Such a love is not from God, but is from the evil one. I believe that's in 1 John 2:15-17. While this could carry over onto many things (some Christians, for example, don't like Christmas or Easter because of these verses and the supposed paganism that the holidays have), I don't think that's the right interpretation. These people are legalists. You're right about salvation by grace; totally right. If someone was a legalist, I would stand with you in refuting these deceived people. My friend, you need to realize that I was not at all being judgmental and rude. I'm totally sorry that I came across as offensive to you. I'll try to be gracious (with the Lord's help), in the future. You may take it that way if you like, but I was going on Scriptural prinicples. I can see however why you were angry with me, and I should have thought out my post better. Also, I'm sorry if I gave you the wrong impression. I don't want you to think that I'm just another wacko who says that the band is evil and that rock is evil. I don't think like that. The last thing that I want to touch on is the Youtube clip that you provided for me to view, and the overall tide of the attitudes that are present here on the Warrior Network and its forums at www.thesouthtown.com. I have seen the clip and have enjoyed it many times. It has encouraged me to know that P.O.D. loves the Lord and want to help others in life. I have nothing against that clip at all or the fact that the guys are tattooed. I don't believe that tattoos are sinful or anything. If God can use a guy like Michael "Head" to come out of Korn and do music for him while having Bible verses tattooed on his arms, then I think that He can permit P.O.D. to be tattooed as well. Also too, you mentioned about the Ozzfest bands hanging out with P.O.D. I do realize that P.O.D. has been a secular band for their whole career, but that's not really much of a rebuttal. I have no problem with the guys doing that, but they need to check their motives. If they're just supporting those bands and having a "great" time, then I can't support that and will look for other things about P.O.D. to brighten my days. I guess what I need to do is to take your advice and to pray that God would convict the band members of any sin that they may have committed. I also need to pray that the band members would grow in grace and know the Lord better and that they would be more powerfully used of Him for His purposes. However, if they're making a godly impact with the Ozzfest bands, then I totally support what P.O.D. is doing at the Ozzfest festivals. Either way, you had some good points. Now, onto the overriding attitude that seems to be engulfing these boards and its posters...some people seem to think that in order to support a music artist, you must approve of everything that artist does. I'm not sure who thinks this, but I've noticed this in some comments about the band on these boards in general. The attitude is that you shouldn't judge whether anything is right or wrong at all. I think that this is a foolish and irrational attitude to have, because it lacks discernment. It also reeks of the current state of our society, which is postmodernism. Many of you seem to stress tolerance and...that's it. I've talked about this before, and I don't believe that this attitude is right. It just seems to me that whenever anybody talks about holiness, the cry of "Legalism!" is often raised in order to end the conversation. Irrational responses have also been posted. That's also not right. God said that we must be holy as he is holy. For examples of these things, just read the "Is P.O.D. Christian?" thread. I also don't believe that you have to like everything they do in order to appreciate the music of any artist. Also too, if you read my post, you will note that I did mention that I need to be humble and that I need to be kind when speaking the truth. I do have a problem with that, and I'm sorry for any trouble I may have caused. I wasn't trying to be a legalist or a hater or anything. Hope that helps, and have a good day. Later, Nick White P.S.: By the way, what did you mean when you said that I "go OTT sometimes"? I'm just curious. Sorry if I offended anyone. I do believe I mentioned that in the ending of my previous post on this thread. Anyways, talk to you later.
